Personally, I’ve never understood the appeal of buying a S4 over an A6. Its the same engine, but larger cost. Sure there may be a few better sport-centric features, but overall wouldn’t the A6 be the better buy?

I don’t know, I like both in all honesty.

Owned an S4, got an A6 as a loaner.
Not even close. The A6 feels both larger and substantially heavier. Even compared to the S6 (which I’ve spent way more time in than the A6) the S4 feels waaaaay more sporty and agile. Keep in mind the “S” treatment isn’t just the engine. It’s the suspension and drivetrain as well.

I would have said an XK Jag. How wrong I would have been.

The “T” stands for tupercharged.

A6 is over 400lb heavier and not as nimble. I have a ‘14 S4 and despite the engine there’s not much comparison in performance. I know an APR dealer who previously had an S4 and has a tuned S7 for his wife, and he says it’s more of a muscle car for highway cruising, can’t throw it around like he S4 and he says he misses the one he had.

In VAG vehicles they use “T” to represent any form of forced induction, so the S7 has a 4.0T V8 in which the “T” represents a turbo, but the S4 has a 3.oT V6 in which the “T” represents a supercharger. It just comes down to you knowing which engine has which form of forced induction.
Edit: Oops i read your reply too fast and didn’t realise you were making a joke :/ how German of me.
